In the Below Deck episode “Jesus Saves,” Kate Chastain, Chief Stewardess of the charter yacht Valor, meets a handsome sailor whom she refers to as Jesus due to his long dark hair and beard. During the charter, they have a fling on his boat. It’s not an unusual occurrence on Below Deck. In fact, it’s exactly that kind of meeting (“the sex, the money, the celebrities…”) that inspired Chastain to write her book, Lucky Charming (see link below), which was released in December.
On her Amazon page, Chastain explains that she started writing the book years before starring on Bravo’s Below Deck. “Some writers want people to read their book hoping for fame, but I may have done it backwards…The truth is I sought out fame so people would read my book. And it worked.” Below Deck airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Bravo.
