In the Bar Rescue episode “Rickety Rockin’ Rhonda’s”, Jon Taffer travels to Sanford, Florida (near Orlando) to try to meet with the owner of Rockin’ Rhonda’s, Rhonda Pahlka. She has list of things (about a dozen) that need to be fixed including refrigeration and plumbing. But Taffer’s biggest concern is the crumbling floor. “I’m not even sure the floor is safe here,” Taffer tells Rhonda which has her terribly worried. She knows she needs help and that she’s responsible for neglecting the place. When Taffer brings his guy in, he says they have to “re-do the structure, re-do the bar, and then put all the refrigeration and everything back in.” Luckily for Rhonda, they can do it and in the short amount of time they have to do it.
After the renovation, Taffer rebrands Rockin’ Rhonda’s as Rhonda’s: A Neighborhood Bar. The place is open “8 nights a week” from 11am to 2pm, and is now serving a cocktail called From the Floor Up which consists of Cazadores Tequila Blanco, grapefruit juice, Triple Sec, orange, lime and salt, for $6.25. A limited menu of BBQ flatbread and nachos is also available. Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 10pm on Spike.
