Auditions in Los Angeles continue for Season 14 of So You Think You Can Dance. During the second round SYTYCD judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Vanessa Hudgens will be moved by the performance of contemporary dancer Darius Hickman, and his young life story. When his mother was sent to jail, Darius lived with his aunt who entered an abusive relationship. When his aunt passed away three years ago, Darius was taken in by his godmother (who you see cheering Darius on in the SYTYCD audience).
In May, Darius graduated from Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach and according to his Instagram account he’s moving to Indianapolis, Indiana to join the Butler Ballet program at Butler University (class of 2021), which is consistently ranked one of the top 5 programs in the nation. So You Think You Can Dance airs Mondays at 8pm on FOX.
