In the Return to Amish episode “Fun in the Shun,” Mary Schumaker takes a road trip to Sarasota, Florida. Her intent is to visit and check in on Jeremiah and Carmela, who just bought a piece of property. But Mary finds time to enjoy herself and do things she’d never be able to if not shunned by the Amish community.

Mary, who just bought a car but doesn’t want the Florida Amish to see her driving, rents a bicycle. She also rents a paddleboat. When she sits by the pool, she has a drink delivered to her and then she takes off her bonnet and goes into the pool, wearing one of her signature blue dresses. Return to Amish airs Sundays at 8pm TLC.
