Melanie Cruz of Bakersfield, California is the inventor of Plaliens, a line of playful “plush aliens that inspire curiosity.” She and her mom Beth will pitch Plaliens on The Toy Box (May 5). A day before the episode, Melanie (a mother of three young daughters) posted a short video on YouTube to announce her plan to start a web-series about being a stay-at-home mom who runs a business from home. And not just your everyday stay-at-home mom, but one who has other inventions and patented products, too.
On her vlog Cruz will also talk about how she comes up with product ideas like her patented baby headband Bebe Doos Perfect Ponies (pigtails on a headband). See photo and video below. The Toy Box airs Fridays at 8pm on ABC, right before Shark Tank.
