Chay Guillory weighed 597 lbs. when he was first featured on My 600-lb Life. The 23-year-old tried to lose weight to be eligible for gastric bypass surgery, but when his beloved grandmother died, Chay regressed. Luckily, Chay found a counselor to help him deal with his emotions. After losing more than 100 lbs., Chay meets with Dr. Nowzaradan and tells him he is transgender and wants gender reassignment surgery. Dr. Now tells Chay to wait.
On May 31, My 600-lb Life revisits Chay who now goes by Lola with her friends. The cameras follow Lola as she tells her family she is a woman. Not everyone is happy for Lola. But on social media, Lola looks happy and seems to be keeping on her healthy diet. In February 2017, Lola announced that she landed a role in a stage production of Steel Magnolias. Break a leg, Lola!
