Swedish design director Tom Wysocki saw gold in this no-nonsense concert poster for a pub in England. Wysocki works for AKQA, which specializes in “imaginative application of art and science to create beautiful ideas, products and services.” Wysocki obviously saw those things — remember Einstein said the best science was simple — in the poster below, created for The Friars in Bridgnorth. So he shared it.
Designer “Tom” banged out this poster the way we live, giving it a warm familiarity and an LED urgency. (Estimates for content design range from 7 to 9 seconds!) It’s of the moment, communicates all the necessary info, and has that even-hipper-than-Brooklyn feel, too. Plus there’s a little mystery. What’s that “40s Groove” thing about on June 2? Tell us, Tom, please! In your special way. Wonder what his rate is? AKQA is always hiring.
Brilliant poster. Nice one Dave. pic.twitter.com/AEmk7yFrUk
