The Dateline episode “The Charleston Affair” investigates the 2013 attempted murder of Nancy Cannon, ex-wife of Bank of America executive Chris Latham. The Charleston, South Carolina couple was going through a bitter divorce. One week before their divorce hearing in court, an ex-con named Samuel Yenawine was pulled over driving with a loaded gun. He confessed to being hired to kill Nancy Cannon. He said Latham and Wendy Moore, who was having an affair with Latham, plotted the murder-for-hire. Wendy Moore was Yenawine’s ex-wife.
Two months after his arrest, Yenawine, 38, committed suicide in jail. He left a note on a napkin which read “Look I’m really sorry about this. I’m finally FREE!!” Both Moore and Latham were convicted. Moore is serving a 15-year sentence; Latham a 10-year sentence. Dateline NBC airs Fridays at 9pm.
