On The Voice, Season 12, Team Alicia gets to work with rapper/producer DJ Khaled as they prepare for the first Battle Round. Felicia Temple, the 29-year-old nurse from Teaneck, New Jersey is battling it out against the youngest artist on the show, 13-year-old Quizz Swanigan. They’re given the song “Titanium” to perform together, written by David Guetta and Sia. The first line of the song is “I’m bulletproof, nothing to lose. Fire away, fire away.” During rehearsals, Alicia Keys tells Felicia and Quizz they have to work harder to identify with the song. “What does this song mean to you?” she asks them.

No doubt, Alicia Keys has asked herself that question before. According to Sia’s manager, Jonathan Daniel of Crush Management, Sia wrote the song for Alicia Keys. Daniel told Billboard: “Sia loves straight-up rhythmic pop. She loves Beyoncé,” he said. “She wrote ‘Titanium’ for Alicia Keys. But I told her, ‘No one is going to take your voice off of that.'” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
