LeBron James has been logging big minutes this year as the Cavaliers have dealt with injuries and maintained their Eastern Conference lead. But with Kevin Love and J.R. Smith back in uniform, James made like a true NBA superstar (see Warriors) and rested during the Cavs game against the Clippers on Saturday. All eyes were on James anyway, of course. And he made the most of it, with a clever sartorial choice.
James wore a hugely popular, hugely expensive $1,290 Gucci “Blind For Love” sweatshirt, of the sort favored by fashion and music icon Adam Levine and other trend setters. James gets extra meaning mileage out of his green “Blind for Love” choice, given that Kevin Love is back — and bringing his 20 points and 11 rebounds a game back to the defending champs. Love and James have sometimes had a difficult partnership, but James has given Love credit for playing a huge role in the Cavs title win and being a key element in future success. Asked before the deadline if a much-rumored trade for Love would happen, James called it trash. Whatever weaknesses Love may have, James is blind if the Cavs keep winning — Blind For Love. If you’d rather just have the t-shirt, it’s only $895.
