In the Mom episode ‘A Bouncy Castle and an Aneurysm’, Bonnie (Allison Janney) meets Joe, a handsome, sober restaurateur. Her daughter Christy (Anna Faris) is worried that Bonnie is two-timing her live-in boyfriend Adam (William Fichtner), who tends to drink a lot. Bonnie says she’s not dating Joe – they just had dinner together (at his restaurant), and yes, she did shave her legs.
Joe is portrayed by David James Elliott. He’s known for his roles on Secrets and Lies (Juliette Lewis’ boss Major Bryant), Mad Men (Dave Wooster), CSI: NY (FBI Agent Russ Josephson), Close to Home (James Conlon), JAG (Harmon Rabb, Jr.), Melrose Place (Terry Parsons), and The Untouchables (Agent Paul Robbins), among others. He also played a mean John Wayne in the 2015 film Trumbo with Bryan Cranston. Mom airs Thursdays at 9pm on CBS.
