Melissa Gersin, a pediatric nurse from Boston, Massachusetts, is the entrepreneur behind Tranquilo Mat, a lightweight, portable vibrating mat designed to calm crying babies. According the website, Tranquilo “mimics the sounds and motions of a mother’s womb” which makes the mat “a portable angel maker.” She’s pitching her business on Shark Tank (February 10). You have to see it to believe it (video below).
The Tranquilo Mat comes in small (11 3/4 in x 9 in and 3/4 inches thick) for $84.99 and large (23 1/4 in x 12 in and 3/4 inches thick) for $99.99. The Tranquilo Mat is available on Amazon (link above). It requires 4 (AA) batteries which are not included. Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
