NBA MVP Steph Curry is a devout Christian — he has Bible verses printed on his custom-designed sneakers — and isn’t normally a political force. But the NBA’s most electrifying player, if not certainly its best, is hardly dull off the court either. Curry possesses one of the league’s brightest minds. And despite winning the kind of endorsement dollars that usually take the edge off of a celebrity’s controversial comments, Curry isn’t hesitant to chime in. Especially when the target is as big and easy to hit as a long 3-pointer. This week Curry gave a master class in how to call the president an ass, without ever uttering the word.
It went like this: The CEO of Under Armour, Curry’s biggest endorsement sponsor, said some pro-Trump things that embarrassed many in his camp, Curry included. Curry said he agreed with Kevin Plank that President Trump was an asset, “if you remove the et” from the word. Who says Curry can’t dunk? That’s a slam, right there.
