Director Kenneth Lonergan‘s 2016 film Manchester By The Sea starring Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams has been nominated for several Golden Globe Awards. Lonergan’s debut film, You Can Count on Me, was released in 2000 and starred Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo. Lonergan’s wife, actress J. Smith-Cameron also had a role in You Can Count on Me and later in Lonergan’s long-awaited film Margaret starring Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Ruffalo.
Smith-Cameron is also recognized for her roles on the TV series Rectify (Daniel’s mother Janet Talbot), HBO’s Divorce (Elaine Campbell), True Blood (Melinda Mickens), K Street (Tommy’s wife), and The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd (Ramona Luchesse), among others. Smith-Cameron and Lonergan are the parents of a daughter named Nellie.
