In the Star episode ‘The Devil You Know’, while a producer threatens the trio’s chance of performing at a music festival, something’s brewing with quarterback Hunter Morgan (Chad James Buchanan) and his mother Arlene who is clearly protective of Hunter.
Arlene is portrayed by Nealla Gordon. She’s worked with Star creator and director Lee Daniels several times including on the sets of Empire (Agent Harlow Carter), and on his films Precious (Mrs. Lichtenstein), The Paperboy with Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman (Ellen Guthrie), and Lee Daniels’ The Butler (Senator Kassebaum). Star airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
