After starring in Danny Davis’s insane snowboarding film Peace Park (2016), Red Gerard is joining Davis as an official Mountain Dew action sports athlete. Mountain Dew cites Gerard’s “unprecedented energy and fearless approach to pushing the limits” as factors that make him a great fit for the brand and the team. Mountain Dew sponsors the Dew Tour, which hits Breckenridge this week.
The sixth of seven children, Gerard began snowboarding at age 2. When his family moved from Cleveland to Colorado when he was 7, things got a little more serious. But the Gerard family kept going back and forth between Colorado and Cleveland throughout his youth, creating a Cleveland jones for the slopes that probably doubled young Red’s desire to fly. Gerard has been a Burton rider since before he was a teenager. Joining the Mountain Dew team is a summit of sorts, for the 16-year-old.
