Renaldo Webb is the entrepreneur behind PetPlate, a homemade dog food business. Dissatisfied with the dog food on the market that contains unhealthy ingredients and preservatives, Webb started making his own which is fit for human consumption. The PetPlate menu includes Oven Roasted Turkey with Sweet Potato and Vegetables, and Farmhouse Beef with Sweet Potato and Vegetables. Now Webb will see if he can get more than the dogs to bite — he’s after sharks, too. Web will pitch PetPlate on Shark Tank.

Webb’s path to pet food is an unusual one. The MIT grad (Physics, Class of 2010) worked at Geosyntec Consultants, McKinsey & Company, and Catterton Partners in Greenwich before founding PetPlate in a commercial kitchen in Brooklyn in August 2015. Since then Webb’s been delivering PetPlate meals throughout New York City. Weekly plans and monthly plans are available. Depending on the size of your dog, a one-month supply of PetPlate can run from $80 (under 5lbs.) to $360 (91-100lbs). Shark Tank airs Fridays at 9pm on ABC.
