In the Sister Wives episode ‘Kody Takes Responsibility’, while Mykelti Brown (daughter of Kody and Christine) forges ahead with her wedding plans with fiance Tony Padron, her father Kody sits down with his eldest child, Mariah (daughter with Meri). Mariah tells her father: “I spent the entire summer telling her that she was being catfished and she wouldn’t listen to me.” (Last season on Sister Wives, it was revealed that Meri was catfished by a woman who pretended to be man.) Mariah tells Kody: “She’s done a lit of shitty things and I haven’t forgiven her.”

Recognizing that it’s his goal to keep the family together “and to work these things out” Kody admits to Mariah: “I am not doubting that I was somewhat a catalyst [to the catfishing]”. After his conversation with Mariah, Kody says: “This might be one of those conversations I think was a mistake to be filmed.” Sister Wives airs Sundays at 8pm on TLC.
