Jeremy Lin couldn’t reverse the Nets losing ways — not yet — but a healthy Lin continues to look like a very good sign for Brooklyn’s future. Hamstrings are hard injuries to recover from — Lin’s first game back, though he played just 20 minutes, resulted in back tightness that forced him to miss the next game against the Lakers. Expect Lin’s minutes to be doled out conservatively to prevent exacerbating the injury. But Lin, a career reserve until this year for the most part, is used to making the most out of his minutes.
He got ten points in his 20 minutes against Houston, despite feeling like he was shooting “footballs.” In Friday night’s 118-111 loss to the Magic, Lin scored 17 points in just 19 minutes on 54% shooting, adding three rebounds and three assists. That is extraordinary offensive productivity out of Lin, who’s only just getting his legs and timing back. The Nets are using Lin’s meager minutes allotment to improve as a team too — 11 Nets players logged double digit minutes against Orlando.
