One of the storylines in this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is the competition between Kenya Moore and Sheree Whitfield. Both have taken years to build their dream houses and both are celebrating their completion with housewarming parties. When Whitfield opened her house to guests, she was fined $1000 for not getting the proper permits for such an event. She also didn’t have a certificate of occupancy. The production company that filmed the party for RHOA was fined too, as was Kenya Moore for her party.
During Whitfield’s hearing, Sandy Springs Municipal Judge Candiss Howard told Whitfield to “take extra steps not to interfere with [neighbors’] privacy. Provide security to deal with paparazzi and traffic control.” Afterwards, Whitfield said of Candiss’ scolding, “I think she was a little overboard.” According to AJC.com, Whitfield asked the court if she could leave through a back entrance to avoid the media. Her request was denied. The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
