You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby… that ear worm lodged in the minds of millions when Pete Burns sung it in 1985. It still gets airplay. Burns fronted the band Dead Or Alive and provided its enormous picturesque flair — a handsome face, sinewy moves, impossible hair, and outre Boy George-ish coquetry. Not to mention the eye-patch. It’s hard to rock an eye-patch. It was hard in the 80s and remains so today. Pete Burns could rock the eye-patch.

Burns died this week of “massive cardiac arrest.” He had made his living “since 1976” he said, in music and TV. He was a reality TV player. Burns was in his late 50s when he died.
