On the Strut episode ‘The Big Apple’, Cece brings his Slay models to New York to work a runway for Hood By Air. As Cece says, “New York is where the big dogs are. I’m surrounded by all these major fashion players like Spiegel. If we get Spiegel as a client, that would change the game.” The future of the transgender modeling agency seems to be filled with opportunity but the aftermath of the tragic killings in Orlando looms large for the models in this episode.

Isis says she wants to celebrate after the show but Dominique says “With what just happened in Orlando, the very last place I want to be is in a club.” Isis and Dominique’s husband convince her to go. Cece adds, “After everything that had happened in Orlando, seeing the models on the runway – this was a big triumphant ‘we’re not going anywhere’ moment.” Strut airs Tuesdays at 9pm on Oxygen.
