The San Antonio Spurs started four perennial All-Stars — Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker — and demolished the new-look Houston Rockets 114-99 in a preseason game that Houston never really tried to win. (Meaning James Harden didn’t play.) San Antonio put Kyle Anderson in the remaining starting spot and Anderson, who’s been biding his time for a chance to shine with the Spurs, shot 4-of-5 form the floor, grabbing four boards and dishing three assists in just 19 minutes.
6’3″ rookie guard Bryn Forbes from Michigan State led the Spurs in minutes played with 28 and points, scoring 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
