Welcome to another exciting rendition of Matty Amsterdam’s Essential Fantasy Insights! Coming off a hugely successful week of prognostications, let’s try to keep the magic going. To start off, I’m going with a bit of an obvious name, but I’ll tell you why. Play Mike Evans. Trade for him in any league you can. Pay the price for him in daily games. With Vincent Jackson done for the season, and the Tampa running back all sorts of banged up, Evans is The Man for the Bucs. He’s my #1 player in all of fantasy this week, and I think a top-3 fantasy wide receiver the rest of the season. Targets on targets on targets. Get yourself some! (Since this was an obvious call, I’ll go deeper and say I’m also excited for Jay Ajayi. I think he’s for real, and is getting more opportunity as his production merits. Top-20 guy for me this week).
NFL Fantasy Week 7: Mike Evans At Any Price and Top 20 Jay Ajayi
As for who I’m staying away from, this week is Randall Cobb. Look, I love the guy. I really do. But there’s something wrong with Green Bay’s offense (hint: It’s badly constructed!), and Cobb is one glaring example of this. Only over 100 yards in one game this year, with only one TD on the season, and with a divisional match-up on a short-week Thursday night, I don’t want any piece of the Green Bay offense, as tempting as it may be. Not using Jordy Nelson in daily games, and not starting Cobb in any format. Hope you all have winning weeks!
