Carmelo Anthony got a little passive-aggressive with Jeremy Lin. It wasn’t much, but put it under the media magnifying glass otherwise known as New York and you’ve got a feud. But Lin isn’t taking the interborough bait after Manhattan Melo said about Brooklyn Lin: “He’s the face of their franchise, believe it or not.” Anthony followed that aggression by wishing Lin success, saying “I’m happy for him, excited for him…”
Lin was told of Anthony’s jab, of course. But Lin is busy at his (starting point guard) job. Lin understands he’s got absolutely nothing to gain by firing back at Anthony: “[I’ve] said this literally since day one. Every time I’ve run into [Anthony] or had personal interaction with him, he’d been really nice to me.” But what about that “believe it or not” dis, reporters wanted to know. Doesn’t that piss you off, Mr. Lin? “No, I don’t think it’s a big deal to be honest,” Lin replied. And it was apparent that Lin really was being honest. Then Jeremy Lin went back to work.
