The Miami Heat have now lost all of the Big 3 from their championship days. First that guy James went home to Believeland and added to his trophy case there. Then bang this summer Heat legend Dwyane Wade was called home to Chicago by the legend of Michael Jordan and a hankering for real winter. Did you say other shoe dropping? Yes, then Chris Bosh’s health made it impossible for him to continue playing basketball. The only familiar Miami face left from the good times is head coach Erik Spoelstra, and he keeps putting a good team on the floor.
The Heat won its opener against the Orlando Magic 108-96, with six Heat players — Justise Winslow, Hassan Whiteside, Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, James Johnson and Willie Reed — scoring at least ten points for Spoelstra’s side. Whiteside had 14 rebounds and four blocks to go with 18 points.
