On The Walking Dead Season 7 episode ‘The Well’, the group meets “a new well-established community that seems too good to be true.” The benevolent King of the Kingdom is Ezekiel. He sits on his throne with a real life tiger named Shiva by his side. In Christianity, Judaism and Islam, Ezekiel is a prophet. He lived during the time of the fall of Jerusalem and was exiled to Babylon.
Ezekiel on AMC is portrayed by Khary Payton. He’s known in the business as a voice actor. He’s best known for providing voices for the animated series Teen Titans (Cyborg and Sticky Joe), Transformers: Robotos in Disguise (Grimlock), and The Lion Guard (Rafiki), among many others. Or you might recognize him from his days at General Hospital in 2011 (Terrell Jackson). On his Facebook page, Payton describes himself as “that little dude from high school.” He’s from Athens, Georgia. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC, followed by Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick.
