In the Season 2 premiere episode of Chicago Med, while nurse April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) deals with her recently discovered illness (tuberculosis), Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) starts his two-year fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. He and his new boss, Dr. Isidore Latham, don’t hit it off right away.
Dr. Latham is portrayed by Ato Essandoh. He’s known for his roles on Vinyl (Lester Grimes), Elementary (Sherlock’s sponsor Alfredo Llamosa), Blue Bloods (Reverend Darnell Potter), and Girls (D. August), among others. Essandoh is also recognized for his roles in the films Jason Bourne (Craig Jeffers), Django Unchained (D’Artagnan), Blood Diamond (Commander Rambo), Hitch (Tanis), and Garden State (Titembay). Chicago Med airs Thursdays at 9pm on NBC.
