Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars features 13 celebrities including IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe. Hinchcliffe is the prototype for the fun-loving, risk-taking, super-competitive IndyCar racer. The 29-year-old Canadian has described himself as the “class clown” of the IndyCar circuit, but the 2011 Rookie of the Year is also all business on the track.
In 2015 Hinchcliffe joined Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. He had a near fatal crash during practice for the 2015 Indianapolis 500 and missed the race, but recovered to compete in the 2016 Indy 500. In his debut on Dancing With The Stars, Hinchcliffe won praise from all the judges, winning high opening round scores of 8 from three of the four judges. Len Goodman called Hinchcliffe’s performance a “knockout.” As on the track, Hinchcliffe figures to be a tough and nimble competitor on the dance floor. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
