Of the 13 celebrities competing for the Mirrorball Trophy on this season’s Dancing With the Stars, perhaps none became a star quite as early as Jake T. Austin. Austin started acting at age 7 and the natural charmer was a child star in the blink of an eye, playing Max Russo on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, in the popular TV movie of the same name, and its various crossover episodes. A 5-time Young Artist Award winner, Austin isn’t just a pretty face — he was the voice of Diego in Nickelodeon’s enormously popular Go, Diego, Go! and voiced roles in a huge number of projects like Rio and Rio 2, Justice League vs Teen Titans, Khumba. More recently Austin played Jesus Foster in more than 40 episodes of the TV drama The Fosters.
Plenty of fans will be shouting Go, Jake, Go! as Austin competes on DWTS. And with good reason: almost no celeb gets as close to his fans as Austin. In January he revealed he was dating one of his social media followers, 22-year-old Danielle Ceasar, after she wooed him online.
