Charlotte Hornets legend Mugsy Bogues was a giant in the NBA at 5’3″. The insanely gifted, lightning fast guard menaced opponents on offense and defense, turning up the energy on the floor whenever he entered and immediately changing the tenor of the game. Mugsy is also a film critic of sorts — at least where film meets basketball meets fantasy, as in the iconic Space Jam movie. A highly anticipated sequel is expected, with rumors that LeBron James will take over Michael Jordan’s starring role. Mugsy says he heard Michael Jordan thinks Blake Griffin would do a great job in the starring role. If Mugsy himself were doing the casting, he thinks Kobe fits the role better. And then, in solidarity with the little guys (or at least the non-giants) Mugsy says “You gotta have Stephen in there.” That’s Stephen Curry, of course, the back-to-back NBA MVP whose long distance shooting range already looks animated some nights. Mugsy starred along with Jordan in the original.
