The twentieth anniversary of the death of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey is approaching. She was discovered missing on Christmas Day 1996; her dead body was found in her family home, in the basement, the next day.) Some believed her parents, John and Patsy, were involved. Some believed JonBenet’s 9-year-old brother Burke was involved. All three were eventually taken off the suspect list.
Burke Ramsey is now giving an exclusive interview with The Dr. Phil Show and John Ramsey will be featured in the A&E documentary The Killing of JonBenet: The Truth Uncovered. (JonBenet’s mother Patsy died in 2006 from ovarian cancer.) John Ramsey, who is now 72 years old and remarried, says of his family, twenty years ago: “We absolutely felt like we were the victim of a lynch mob led by the media.” He adds, “There’s no question that the Boulder police department believed we were the killers.” The Killing of JonBenet: The Truth Uncovered premieres on A&E on September 5.
