US swimmer Dana Vollmer is already a four-time Olympic Gold Medalist. Rio will be her third Olympics appearance. This one is different for many reasons. Just 16 months ago, Vollmer, 28, had a child — a baby boy named Arlen with her former Stanford swimmer husband Andy Grant. While Vollmer says baby Arlen goes to every training session with her, he won’t be joining her in Brazil.
On August 1, Vollmer posted a photo of her with her husband and baby and wrote: “Last FaceTime goodbyes to this little monster! Mommy is headed to Rio!!” Watch for Vollmer who’s competing in the 100m fly. 2016 Olympics Primetime coverage on NBC begins Sunday, August 7 at 7pm.
