Rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot will be one of three celebrities interviewed on an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? Sir Mix-A-Lot is best known for his song “Baby Got Back” from his 1992 album Mack Daddy. Now, 24 years later, he tells Oprah that he was inspired to write the song after watching a popular Budweiser TV commercial campaign that featured Spuds McKenzie and a skinny models, the kind that normally appear in glossy fashion magazines including Cosmopolitan. He said he ended up writing “an empowering song by accident.”
He says that the song is about picking at the establishment “not too much, not too much over the top, and lift the sisters up.” Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
