College student Jessie Blodgett was home from school for the summer of 2013. The 19-year-old actress and musician had reconnected with her high school boyfriend Daniel Bartelt. On July 15, Blodgett’s mother found her daughter dead in her bedroom. She had been strangled. Bartelt, 20, was arrested. While in police custody for the murder of Jessie Blodgett, he admitted to attacking another woman three days prior to murdering Blodgett. On July 12, he attacked a woman in a park with a knife. The victim was able to wrestle a knife away from Bartelt and escape. Bartelt told police that it was “a spur of the moment decision…to scare her.”
