In the Season 2 premiere episode of Ballers, “Face of the Franchise,” Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) agrees to go on Jay Glazer’s talk show where Spencer ends up clashing with his old rival Andre Allen. The adage all PR is good PR may not apply here. The fight between Spencer and his old foe hurts Spencer’s reputation.
Andre is portrayed by Andy Garcia. The Cuban-born actor is known for his roles in The Godfather: Part III (Vincent Mancini), The Untouchables (Agent George Stone), Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve (Julia Roberts’ boyfriend, casino owner Terry Benedict), When a Man Loves a Woman (Meg Ryan’s husband, Michael Green), and most recently Ghostbusters (Mayor Bradley), among many others. Ballers airs Sundays at 10pm on HBO.
