The rock band Weezer released the song “I Love the USA” which celebrates NASA’s Juno mission, which will enter Jupiter’s orbit on Monday, July 4th. Rivers Cuomo, the band’s lead singer, said about the song: “We were on tour abroad, and it got me thinking a lot about America, which led to me write ‘I Love the USA.’” When Weezer was approached by Apple Music and NASA to get involved in the historic landing, “this song seemed like the perfect fit,” Cuomo wrote. The chorus of “I Love the USA” includes the lyric: “I love the USA/f*ck yeah, this place is great.”
Fun fact about the NASA’s Juno mission: Juno, which contains nearly 18,000 solar cells, “is the furthest solar powered mission ever conceived, built to run on the sun’s energy in an environment 25 times dimmer than the Earth.” F*ck yeah, NASA.
