Veteran NBA guard Raymond Felton will join the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2016-17 season. The former first round pick out of North Carolina has spent 11 years in the NBA, playing for Charlotte, New York, Denver, Portland and Dallas. The Clippers will be his sixth team, an average of a new uniform every two years.
The 32-year-old Felton started 31 games in Dallas last year and played in 80, averaging 9.5 points and 3.6 assists. In the Mavs’ five game playoff run, however, Felton started four times and raised his game, averaging 15 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. For Felton, signing with the Clippers marks his first real chance with a genuine contender for the NBA title. In Las Vegas, the Clippers — at 35/1 — currently own the fifth slot in futures odds to win the 2017 NBA title. Golden State is the favorite at 2/3.
