Matt Alexander and his brother-in-law Michael Kannely are the inventors behind IllumiBowl, a motion-activated toilet light. They raised close to $100,000 in just 40 days on Kickstarter — sort of a shot in the dark! — and then pitched the product on Shark Tank in March 2016. On the show, they made a deal with Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary — $100,000 for 25 percent equity.
Alexander told Forbes: “We have a lot of exciting thing in the works for IllumiBowl. We have had massive success online and now we have partnered with Bed Bath and Beyond to roll out nationwide as we speak.” IllumiBowl was available on zulily too but it sold out!
