It was a brutal match for Andy Murray after it looked like it might be a breeze. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made Murray work for every inch in the first set, finally capitulating 12-10 in a tie-break. But Murray swiftly parlayed his advantage, taking set #2 in decisive fashion, 6-1. Yes, there are people who come back from two sets down in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, but they go by the name Federer, not Tsonga.
Yet it looked as if Tsonga might join Federer as a comeback kid. He drew even at two sets all before Murray again found his gear, repeating his 6-1 domination in the fifth set. Final match score was 7-6 (12-10) 6-1 3-6 4-6 6-1. Murray will face Tomas Berdych in the semifinal for the chance to play the winner of Federer-Raonic in the Final.
