BrainDead is the new comedy thriller from the creators of The Good Wife (Robert King and Michelle King). In the series premiere episode “The Insanity Principle: How Extremism in Politics Is Threatening Democracy in the 21st Century,” Laurel Healy returns to Washington, D.C. to help her brother Senator Luke Healy (Danny Pino). While in the nation’s capital, she discovers that aliens have invaded the Hill and are controlling the powerful politicians and their staffers.
Laurel Healy is portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The versatile 31-year-old actress is known for her roles on Mercy Street (Mary Phinney), The Returned (Rowan Blackshaw), Passions (Jessica Bennett), and Wolf Lake (Sophia Donner), among others. Winstead is also recognized for her roles in the films Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Ramona), Final Destination 3 (Wendy Christensen), Live Free or Die Hard (Bruce Willis’ daughter Lucy), Smashed (wife of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul), and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (Mary Todd Lincoln). BrainDead premieres Monday, June 13 at 10pm on CBS.
