In the Season 2 BattleBots episode “Robots Activate: The Qualifying Round Begins,” 32 teams vying for the championship compete in three-minute matches that result in the destruction or disabling of the contestants. Host Samantha (Steele) Ponder will be on hand to provide commentary and interviews.
Ponder has been covering the sidelines on ESPN‘s Thursday Night Football, Super Tuesday and Saturday Primetime Basketball. When it’s not BattleBots season, she’s currently a host and reporter on ESPN’s College Gameday. If you’re not a football fan, maybe you recognize her from The View. In 2014, Samantha became a regular co-host. Fun fact about Ponder: The 30-year-old has been married to former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder since 2010. They are the parents of a two-year-old daughter named Bowden Sainte-Claire Ponder. BattleBots airs Thursdays at 8pm on ABC.
