On Wednesday LeBron James called “Game 7” the “best two words ever.” The sporting city of Cleveland agrees. But given a vote Cavaliers fans may actually choose two different words: how about “LeBron James”? But why split hairs? The two are practically synonyms. Without LeBron James there is no pop to “Game 7” — because it doesn’t get played.
James scored 41 points for the second consecutive elimination game, and the Cavaliers emerged from Game 6 with a 115-101 win that sends the series back to Oakland for the finale. James did more than just score. He looked in every respect like a wall the Warriors just would not be able to scale — not in Cleveland, not on this night. With the win, James raised his career record to 9-8 in elimination games. He’s got one more this year. He does not want to have a .500 record (9-9) afterwards. As for going back to Golden State’s gym? James said of the “best two words ever” that he’d “play it anywhere.” Oakland’s Oracle Arena then, Sunday 8pm ET.
