On the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Assaulting Reality,” the unit investigates a rape claim on a reality TV show, Heart’s Desire. On a live broadcast, after watching footage of herself having sex with the desired male contestant, contestant Melanie Connor stands up and says she doesn’t remember that. “He raped me,” she cries before the show abruptly cuts to commercial.
Melanie is portrayed by Comfort Clinton. She’s known for her role as Mera on the webseries Aquaman: The Teen Drama (see below). Since then, she’s appeared in a number of short films including Like Me (Kelly) and If Hideo Kojima Directed a Romantic Comedy (Raven Silverburgh). She will appear on the big screen next in the 2016 horror film Scarefest. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
