OneRepublic is the hugely successful pop rock band formed by Ryan Tedder (lead vocals) and Zach Filkins (guitar) in 2002. The two U2 fans met during their senior year at Colorado Springs Christian High School. In 2007 they got a deal with Velvet Hammer (an imprint of Columbia Records) and produced their first studio album, “Dreaming Out Loud,” which features their anthem song “Apologize.” It’s been three years since OneRepublic released an album (Native).
But on The Voice’s live semifinal results episode (May 17), OneRepublic will perform their latest single “Wherever I Go” from their highly anticipated forthcoming album. Here’s the refrain: “I know I could lie but I’m telling the truth/ Wherever I go there’s a shadow of you/ I know I could try looking for something new/ But wherever I go, I’ll be looking for you.” Fun fact: Tedder was an advisor for Adam Levine during Season 5 of The Voice. Tessanne Chin of Team Adam won. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
