On The Simpsons episode “To Courier With Love,” before Homer whisks Marge to Paris for her dream vacation, he cleans out the basement and finds an antique car (a classic Morgan, a hand-built English sportscar.) While it’s parked outside the house, former late night talk show host and antique car enthusiast Jay Leno passes by. He knocks on Homer’s door and tells him he wants to buy it.
In the studio while recording his lines, Leno said, “I could tell the person who wrote it [the script] was not a car aficionado. They had no idea what they were talking about. So we made a few corrections.” The original script said the car had a marble interior. “I don’t even know what that means,” Leno said. (They had wooden interiors.) P.S. The writer of the episode is Bill Odenkirk, brother of Better Caul Saul star Bob Odenkirk. The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8pm on FOX.
