On the Castle episode “Heartbreaker,” while re-examining one of his old cases, Detective Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas) he reveals to Becket (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) that he used to be involved with the ex-con who can help lead them to a suspect. “Involved, as in dating?” Castle asks Esposito. “Dating? No, c’mon. We were more like engaged.” Zoom in on shocked faces, especially from Esposito’s partner, Ryan (Seamus Dever). Esposito is the one who arrested her and put her in jail.
