Alaskan entrepreneur Lauren Padawer pitched her all-natural facial masks, Alaska Glacial Mud Co., on Shark Tank in 2014. Using mud harvested from Alaska’s Copper River Delta, her mud mask is used as a natural exfoliant. On Shark Tank, she gave a memorable “glacial facial” to potential investor Kevin O’Leary. While Padawer has good margins (it costs $3 to make one 3.5 oz jar which sells for $34), none of the investors bit. But that hasn’t stopped Padawer from pushing forward and expanding her product line.
