The song is about a Mexican outlaw and his girlfriend who get caught (shot down) in Texas. In the duet, Charles sings the first verse (the man’s part) and Nelson sings the second verse (when the woman decides to join her husband in heaven). “Seven Spanish Angels” debuted on Willie Nelson’s 1984 duets album, Half Nelson. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
