In The Middle episode “The Wisdom Teeth,” while Frankie (Patricia Heaton) takes care of Sue (Eden Sher) and Axl (Charlie McDermott) after they both have their wisdom teeth removed, her husband Mike (Neil Flynn) becomes furious when he finds out that the diaper business was Rusty’s (Norm Macdonald) ex-wife’s idea and she might be entitled to all their profits.
Rusty’s ex-wife Marlene is portrayed by Mary Birdsong. She’s best known for her roles on Reno 911! (Deputy Cherisha Kimball) and Raising Hope (Mayor Suzie Hellmann), and in the films Made of Honor (Sharon), Halloween II (Nancy McDonald), and The Descendants (Kai Mitchell). When not on TV or on the big screen, Birdsong is on stage. Fun fact: She made her Broadway debut in “Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.” The Middle airs Wednesdays at 8pm on ABC.
